Beginning Kung Fu students start by training their minds and bodies with basic form and sparring techniques.
Intermediate students learn more advanced forms such as Dragon Fist and Short Staff.
Advanced learn Black Sash forms such as Double Straight Sword, Long Staff vs. Emptyhand, Steel Whip, Broadsword vs. Emptyhand, and a variety of other forms which exemplify the acrobatic nature of the arts. As students advance, they will also have the opportunity to train in sparring, stick, and sword fighting.
These types of practice can take health and endurance to the ultimate levels. The pursuit of knowledge and overall ability to learn in-depth Kung Fu forms also has been seen to facilitate brain development and learning capacity. Progression through the sashes is based on strict criteria to maintain the integrity and lineage of the curriculum, as well as the arts. Classes are informal and camaraderie is present in all of Shih Fu Wheeler's classes. An introductory class consisting of a one-on-one consultation is recommended.
